Alex Shillo and Badlands – Tribute to Bruce Springsteen
Alex Shillo is a singer/songwriter from New England who performs both his original Americana-style rock music and a tribute to the music of Bruce Springsteen. Along with his six-member band, Alex tours concert venues and theaters along the East Coast and parts of the Midwest.
The band performs two distinct 90-minute shows: one featuring Alex’s original music, and the other—a high-level tribute to the recordings of “The Boss.” While Alex does not impersonate Bruce Springsteen, his tribute showcases strong musicianship and a deep respect for the original material.
Both shows have been performed numerous times as opening acts for national touring artists, as well as headlining events. With powerful lead vocals, standout guitar work, and a commanding stage presence, Alex delivers an exciting and engaging performance every time.
The Early Years
Alex honed his musical talent as a child multi-instrumentalist in his father’s recording studio, where he learned the art of multi-track recording before the age of ten. He began by recording songs from The Beatles, Rush, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, and other iconic artists. Soon, he was writing his own songs—often playing every instrument and recording all vocal parts himself.
His early passion for music led to forming several garage bands and an invitation to attend The Hartford Academy for the Arts. These formative experiences shaped his skills as a stylistic songwriter and accomplished instrumentalist.
Original Music
Alex’s original music has been featured on various radio programs, and he has appeared as a guest performer on multiple television shows in the New England market.
His debut single, Had It All, was released in 2018, followed by his album Lay It On the Line in 2021 (delayed due to COVID-19). He was thrilled to record several songs on the album with members of the Billy Joel Band, as well as with his own band.
Currently, Alex is in the studio working on new songs for a follow-up record, with a release originally planned for 2022.
